Lastkinders is a project that is very close to my heart. Its origins can be traced all the way back to 1998 when I was in grade 6, making comics to entertain my friends. Even back then, I would daydream about bringing these characters and stories to life through animation in tv shows and movies.

Fast-forward to 2021, I decided it was time to do just that. I joined forces with Aniaid, which allowed me to connect with designers and animators and build a team to help me develop my show concept and create an animated demo. Every step of the way, I was given the guidance and freedom to pursue my creative vision, and to produce it to a professional standard. I started with an idea, but it was Aniaid’s support – creative, logistic, and financial – that made it possible to take those crucial early steps in making it real. I now have something tangible I can show as a proof of concept as I continue my journey to turning a comic I made as a kid into an animated show!
